The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Star Anthony Mackie Teases Sam's Iron Man Upgrade

We've only seen a glimpse of Sam Wilson's new suit in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier but there is little doubt he's getting a major upgrade. Interestingly, Anthony Mackie has revealed that Sam is getting an Iron Man-style upgrade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series.

Mackie was part of a feature on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier in the latest issue of Disney's D23 Magazine (via The Direct). In the interview, the Altered Carbon star pointed out that Sam is being more careful after what happened in Avengers: Endgame and has decided to make major changes in his Falcon suit.

"The wings have become much more pliable, much more dynamic," Mackie said. "He's much more of a winged force. Coming out of Endgame and being blipped out and blipped back in, it seems this time around, he really appreciates being alive."

Interestingly, Mackie pointed out that Sam is "more 'Tony Starkerized' than before." We're hoping this means the Falcon suit will be just as powerful as the Iron Man suit.

There is little doubt that Sam will be needing an upgrade. After all, he now possesses the Captain America shield. In addition to that, he and Bucky Barnes will be up against an old enemy as well as some fierce new baddies.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will also star Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Bruhl as Baron Zemo, Wyatt Russell as John Walker, and Erin Kellyman as Karli Morgenthau. The series will premiere on Disney+ on March 19.
