Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith will reunite on screen when Smith appears as a guest star in an upcoming episode of The Equalizer Season 2.
Smith and Latifah previously collaborated on the comedy blockbuster Girls Trip, the 2008 drama The Secret Life of Bees, which Smith executive produced, and the 1996 classic action heist picture Set It Off.

Smith will play Jessie Cook, a prolific thief with a photographic memory. Her character is described as both a talented thief and an amoral and devious thief. She is also quite unpredictable, making it difficult to trust her. She had previously been recruited by the CIA due to her abilities outweighing her crime.
Another thing to know about Smith's character is that she will not be working with Robyn McCall, played by Queen Latifah, for the first time. She was apparently recruited by the CIA in the past and ended up working with Robyn. This will increase the levity of their on-screen dynamic.
It has previously been reported that Robyn and Jessie Cook did not get along while they worked together due to their opposing ideologies. They vowed never to work together again.
When Will The Equalizer Return?
The Equalizer returns with new episodes on Sunday, Feb. 27 at 8/7c. The show is now on hiatus owing to a slew of sporting events taking place in China. The return of the show will mark a number of significant events, including the appearance of Jessie Cook.
In general, CBS appears to be having a good time with The Equalizer thus far. The reworking of the Denzel Washington film has been a strong hit for them on Sunday nights, and it appears to be a certainty for a Season 3 renewal for the time being. We understand that certain changes will be required in the wake of the firing of star Chris Noth, but there is still plenty of time to do so.
