You probably know Dave Bautista best for playing Drax in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, where, despite the size of his body, he's not exactly the brightest character from the bunch.

Still, what makes him stand out from the rest is how he sees the guardians as his flesh and blood and would do anything to protect them. However, he is no stranger to playing big-screen movie villains.

In Studio Ghibli's The Boy and the Heron Dave Bautista voices the Parakeet King, and judging by the stuff we've seen so far, it seems there are more secrets to uncover about the film and what his character seeks in Hayao Miyazaki's newest project.

Who is the Parakeet King in the New Ghibli Movie?

As for what to expect from the Parakeet King in the newest Studio Ghibli film, the trailer offered us a glimpse of Dave Bautista's voice role as he utters: "We must protect this world ourselves."

While it may seem like he's portraying himself as the hero, he is actually the main villain. See, the Parakeet King wants to steal the tower for himself, and after failing to do so, causes the tower to collapse, forcing everyone to return to their world and time.

The official synopsis for Studio Ghibli's The Boy and the Heron reads:

Mahito, a young 12-year-old boy, struggles to settle in a new town after his mother's death. However, when a talking heron informs Mahito that his mother is still alive, he enters an abandoned tower in search of her, which takes him to another world.
