Matt Reeves is reaping a lot of praise for his work on The Batman which some fans are now hailing as the best live-action adaptation of the Dark Knight. Of course, this isn't Reeves' first rodeo in the world of cinema and while he doesn't have a lot of films credited under his belt, he has already produced a number of blockbuster projects that received critical and financial success.

Now, a lot of fans are wondering, with him finally crossing out a major item in his bucket list, is there a chance we could see him jump ship to Marvel Studios and helm an MCU project down the line?

Well, if you'd ask Reeves himself, he doesn't think he'll be a good fit for a franchise that has long been established. In a recent interview with Variety, the acclaimed filmmaker said that he has no interest in becoming part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also thinks that Kevin Feige and company won't be satisfied with what he has to offer.

Reeves explains: "I have such respect for Kevin Feige and also for the [Marvel] filmmakers... but to be honest with you, I just don’t know how I would make my way through that. There has to be some level of discovery for me, where I have some freedom to find my way. If I have to come into something that’s already set too firmly, then I think I would get lost. And I don’t think they would be happy with me either."

I definitely understand where Reeves is coming from but you can never say never in the entertainment industry. It's hard to tell what the future holds for him in the superhero film genre and it's safe to assume that his focus is on the Batman franchise but that's not to say that an MCU involvement is not in his future. Anything can happen.

The Batman is showing in cinemas worldwide.
