The Batman Star Robert Pattinson Refuses to Keep Working Out During Lockdown

Probably one of the hardest things about landing a big superhero role is the workout regime. Several actors have shared stories about being on a strict diet and constantly working out for months. The Batman star Robert Pattinson has been told by his personal trainer to keep fit during the lockdown, but Pattinson is apparently refusing.

Talking to GQ, Pattinson shares that he's been ignoring his personal trainer, saying, "I think if you're working out all the time, you're part of the problem… You set a precedent. No one was doing this in the '70s. Even James Dean—he wasn't exactly ripped."

You can't help but admire Pattinson's commitment to not doing anything. He reveals that co-star Zoe Kravitz has been working out five days a week during lockdown, to which Pattinson says, "Literally, I'm just barely doing anything."

If anything, Pattinson has a point. A lot of people have been bashing Hollywood for setting up outrageous beauty standards, especially when it comes to women. Though these big, sculpted muscles look great in front of the camera, a lot of the actors are actually on the brink of a physical breakdown when they are shot. Did you know Henry Cavill had to dehydrate himself for three days whenever he had to do a shirtless scene in The Witcher?

Hopefully by the time The Batman gets to go back to production, Pattinson will be back in shape for the role. With all this uncertainty because of the virus, it wouldn't make sense for him to keep the superhero physique this whole time.

The Batman is set for a release on Oct. 1, 2021.
