The Batman: Sequel Reportedly Given Green Light

Matt Reeves' The Batman, which will feature Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader, is set to start a new franchise for one of DC's top heroes. Even though we won't see the film until March next year, there have been plans already for two spinoff series that will air on HBO Max. Now, it seems like the franchise is expanding again for another cinematic adventure.

According to CBR, citing sources such as scooper Daniel Richtman and Batman on Film, Warner Bros. and DC Films have given a green light to The Batman sequel. There are no other details beyond what was reported, but we can safely assume that Reeves will return to direct as well as Pattinson and the cast members reprising their respective roles.

Whether the report is confirmed or not, it is a no-brainer at this point that The Batman will be getting a sequel. After all, the two HBO Max spinoffs series that are currently in development are already indications that there's a lot of future plans for the franchise so a sequel is inevitable. Perhaps they are just waiting for the film to get released in order for them to officially announce that they are already working on a sequel.

Before the film started production, there have been reports that Reeves is planning a trilogy for his take on the Caped Crusader. It is also known that the key cast members have also signed up for multiple films which means that they are guaranteed to be part of the sequels. Also, it is a comic book movie after all and we know that studios always have plans for projects like this to have sequels so it shouldn't be surprising that this is something that they might be working on right now, especially to a Batman movie that is expected to be a huge hit.
