The Batman Reportedly Testing 2 Theatrical Cuts Featuring Mysterious Character


It will still be a long wait for The Batman but we are already getting some interesting updates on the highly anticipated film. A new report reveals that there are two different cuts of the movie that are currently being screened. Amazingly, one of the cuts features a mysterious new character who could play an important role in the future.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that there have been major developments for The Batman and it may all have to do with a particular actor being featured in the theatrical cut.

"Multiple sources tell us that Warner Bros. has been testing two different cuts of The Batman, one with a certain actor, one without," the report reads. It then continues that "the final test screening" was done in the previous week and that "the decision [is] now made as to which version the studio likes."

But who is this mysterious actor and what is the character he plays? The report also notes Eternals star Barry Keoghan was previously rumored to portray The Joker in The Batman. Although his appearance has not yet been confirmed, it is interesting that the update about two different cuts came so soon after Keoghan's rumored role.

So are we going to see Barry Keoghan as The Joker or maybe a completely different character in The Batman? For now, Keoghan's involvement has not yet been confirmed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The upcoming film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The Batman hits theaters on March 4, 2022.
