The Batman Drops Eerie Riddler Theme

There is little doubt that the Riddler is going to be an imposing figure in The Batman considering that he is the most mysterious character in the upcoming DC flick. So it's no surprise that the villain has a theme that matches his eerie aura. The official theme for Paul Dano's character has been released and it sounds oddly familiar for Batman: The Animated Series fans!

Warner Bros. has shared an official video for the theme which is simply titled The Riddler. Composed by the award-winning Michael Giacchino, the theme maintains an eerie feel that is reminiscent of the themes featured in Batman: The Animated Series.

Of course, the BTAS themes that were composed by Danny Elfman held a tinge of whimsy that is the musician's trademark. Giacchino does away with that to produce a truly spine-tingling theme that fits the new version of the Riddler perfectly.

We're loving the Riddler's theme in The Batman and there is little doubt that Giacchino has captured the film's dark tones perfectly. With that in mind, we can't wait to hear his compositions when the movie is finally released this March.

The Batman follows Bruce Wayne in his second year as the Caped Crusader where he is being terrorized by the serial killer known as the Riddler who is targeting Gotham City's elite citizens. Bruce also discovers that he is being targeted by the criminal who seems to know about Batman's true identity. In addition to that, Bruce must deal with Gotham's bad guys who are determined to take him down.

The film is directed by Matt Reeves and stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader. He is joined by Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell. The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022.
