The Batman: Colin Farrell Debunks Alleged Set Photos of Himself as Penguin

A photo of Colin Farrell has been going around last weekend, and a lot of people have been saying that this is our first look at him in character as the Penguin in Matt Reeves' The Batman. During a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, though, Farrell went out to say that though the photo is of himself, it is not his look for Penguin in the film.

Here's the interview:

Though Farrell has undoubtedly gained weight for the character, he says that the white hair was just something he did out of fun. The explanation seems simple enough, but a lot of fans online are not convinced. I mean, why else would Farrell dye his hair "for fun" when he clearly has other film projects to work on? It sounds like a clumsy misdirection to me.

Then again, Farrell could be completely honest when it comes to his explanation. The thing with these secretive productions is that actors end up downright lying just to keep everyone on their toes. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if the Penguin in this film will ultimately have white hair or not.

Besides Farrell's Penguin, the movie is also set to include Paul Dano as the Riddler, John Turturo as Carmine Falcone, and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman. We might get more villains down the line, but for now, it seems Penguin is the main adversary.

Catch The Batman when it hits theaters June 25, 2021. The next movie in the main DCEU timeline is Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and it hits theaters Feb. 7.
