The Atypical Family is a K-Drama that centers on a family with superpowers. The three members of the family have different powers that benefit them individually.

For starters, the matriarch, Bok Man-Heum (played by Ko Du-Shim) has the ability to see the future. The sister, Bok Dong-Hee (played by Soo-Hyun) can fly.

The main character of the show is Bok Gwi-Joo (played by Jang Ki-Yong), who can time travel. His niece doesn't appear to have any powers yet.

Unfortunately, their powers disappear due to modern-day problems like bulimia, insomnia, and smartphone addiction.

Gwi-Joo encounters an accident that leads him to depression. This hinders him from traveling to the past since his power only allows him to go back to his happy memories. Also, he cannot change the past.

When Do Da-Hae (played by Chun Woo-Hee) enters their lives, they become hopeful that she can fix what's wrong with them.

Unfortunately, The Atypical Family is not based on a manhwa or webtoon. It is an original K-Drama written by Joo Hwa-Mi, who also wrote Welcome, My Shy Boss, Marriage Not Dating, and Waiting for Love.

The K-Drama is directed by Jo Hyun-Tak, who is famous for directing Snowdrop, SKY Castle, Secret Healer, and many others.

No, The Atypical Family is not related to the Disney+ K-Drama Moving. The two shows share the same plot in that the lead characters are superheroes. But as far as their similarities go, this is the only thing that they share.

It would be interesting to see The Atypical Family be part of the same universe as Moving, especially since the latter seems to have several superheroes around the world.

On the contrary, it looks like the Bok family in The Atypical Family is the only family with powers. We'll have to wait and see how the story goes.
