We all saw Thanos fall to his "inevitable" demise not once but twice in Avengers: Endgame and it's looking pretty evident that the Mad Titan will no longer wreak havoc in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what if we tell you that there's still a chance that he could turn up in the billion-dollar franchise at some point in the near future?
The Marvel baddie's co-creator Jim Starlin claims that Thanos could eventually make his way back to the MCU sooner than we think but he could end up facing a different superhero team and it's not the Avengers. During his appearance on ComicBook's Phase Zero podcast, Starlin teased the possibility of the villain returning in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Eternals.
According to the comic book legend, he's heard a lot of talk about Thanos being resurrected in the franchise. He said: "I believe I heard some rumors that he's [Thanos] coming back in different things. I think I've heard...confirmed from Marvel Studios is that he's going to be...at least a guest appearance inside the Eternals, so he's gonna be around. This is not anything I'm making up. This is something I've read somewhere."
It's shocking for sure considering the fact that we've seen him die before our very eyes but you know, anything can happen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I'm guessing Thanos could once again make his return through the Infinity Stones but the true status of the stones has yet to be addressed.
On the other hand, there's also a huge possibility of his return being a flashback scene and with his connection to the MCU's celestial superteam, that one isn't exactly too farfetched to believe. We'll see how things will play out.
Eternals will drop this November.
