Ever since Kevin Feige confirmed that Valkyrie is the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first LGBTQ+ hero, fans have been invested in a potential romance arc for the new King of Asgard. Thor: Love and Thunder promises to give Tessa Thompson's feisty character her own love interest and while the idea excites some, many believe that Valkyrie should form a romantic relationship with an already established female character.

In case you didn't know, a lot of fans have been "shipping" Valkyrie with Brie Larson's Captain Marvel and it's been going on for years now. The two characters have yet to have an interaction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe but both Tessa and Brie are actual good friends in real life.

Now, as fans grow more and more intrigued about Valkyrie's love life, the actress is finally breaking her silence on a potential romance between her character and Carol Danvers. Speaking with Pinkvilla, Thompson addressed whether or not she's in favor of Valkyrie and Carol hooking up and it looks like she's down with it.

She said: "I, you know, the heart wants what it wants. I don't... I can't speak yet to Val. She hasn't had a ton of time to focus too squarely on her love life since she's been besought with a lot of kingly duties."

"But there are a lot of amazing men, women, other wordly creatures inside of the MCU and certainly in the canon of characters that could enter the MCU. So, I think there's so many fish in the sea. She's single. She's ready to mingle. And I love, both in the comics, Carol and I... Brie Larson is a good friend of mine and I love spending time with her. So, I wouldn't be mad at it, for sure."

Danvers' history of love interests range from Mar-Vell aka the original Captain Marvel to James Rhodes and just recently, Doctor Strange but she has never been involved in a romantic relationship with another woman in the comics.

The possibility of her hooking up with Valkyrie would obviously mean that the character will undergo a major retcon but as long as the two actors are down with the idea, then why the heck not, right?

Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder hits cinemas on Friday, July 8th.
