The Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni legal drama hasn’t only affected the two parties, but also the friendship of Ryan Reynolds’ wife with Taylor Swift. After the pop superstar was dragged into the case, thanks to Lively reportedly using their bond to exert control over It Ends with Us’ creative direction, the actress is said to be trying to mend their bond.
However, it looks like it’s too little, too late for Lively to apologize, as Swift, who was subsequently subpoenaed as a witness, just allegedly snubs her “former” bestie.
So, is there any way for these two to be one of Hollywood’s best pals again?
Did Blake Lively Apologize to Taylor Swift?
It appears that Swift now has bad blood with Lively as the 14-time Grammy winner is reportedly ghosting the Another Simple Favor star despite her attempts to mend fences.
“Even though Taylor has totally cut ties with her, Blake hasn’t with Taylor,” a source told the Daily Mail. “She’s been reaching out to her with texts, voicemails and even emails, begging to mend what they once had.”
Despite the snub, the insider claimed Lively has no plans to give up on their friendship and is willing to do everything to get it “back on track.”
However, the tipster added that Swift hasn’t gotten back to any of Lively's pleas and has even “ignored all her groveling excuses.”
“The missives explain there must be some misunderstanding on Taylor’s part and that she’d never do anything to harm their 10 years of closeness and personal secrets,” the source continued.
What Happened to Blake Lively and Taylor Swift’s Friendship?
Lively and Swift are reportedly no longer speaking to each other after Swift’s name was mentioned in Baldoni’s $400 million lawsuit against Lively and Reynolds.
The Jane the Virgin breakout star alleged that Lively used Travis Kelce’s girlfriend to threaten him with her influence to gain control over their controversial 2024 movie.
Allegedly, Lively referred to Swift and her husband as her “dragons” who “protect” her after their meeting about script revisions.
“The message could not have been clearer. Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively,” the lawsuit read (via PageSix). “He was also facing Lively’s ‘dragons,’ two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world, who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.”
With that being said, Swift was subpoenaed in early May to testify as a witness in the two’s upcoming trial in March 2026.
However, Baldoni’s legal team dropped the subpoena weeks later after motions to dismiss were filed and pressure mounted.
But despite the subpoena’s withdrawal, the incident has already caused damage to Swift and Lively’s friendship.
Anyhow, a different source told People that they were trying to be “on good terms” again, though “their friendship isn’t the same as it was before.”
“Taylor is working to trust Blake again but it’s going to take some time,” the insider said.
For starters, Baldoni filed his countersuit against Lively and Reynolds after his former co-star sued him for sexual harassment and retaliation. The 41-year-old actor has denied all the allegations against him.
