Lee Dong Wook, Kim Bum, and Kim So Yeon are finally confirmed to lead the upcoming Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2. Two years after the first season ends, fans will get to see the continuation of the story of their favorite gumiho.

Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum will reprise their roles as Lee Yeon and Yi Rang, respectively, in Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2. Alternatively, Kim So Yeon and Ryu Kyung Soo will be the new additions.

The Cast of Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2

Once again, fans are about to see Lee Yeon hunting down evil spirits on the peninsula. Kim Bun will remain as the rebellious Yi Rang.

Despite resolving his misunderstanding with Lee Yeon in the previous season, he will still be as rebellious when he meets him again in the future.

This two’s relationship will be one of the storylines fans have to see.

“I’m so very happy to work together [on the drama] following Season 1, which I poured a lot of affection into,” Kim Bun said via Soompi. “Please highly anticipate the upcoming Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938 and Yi Rang.”

Ryu Kyung Soo, in addition, will be seen as Dr. Cheon Moo Young, who has the ability to save even the dead. He is a former northern mountain god who used to be the only friend of Lee Yeon and Hong Joo.

But due to an incident, he started to get mad at Lee Yeon. From there, the two are about to begin a deadly battle.

With that said, Ryu Kyung Soo revealed he is now looking forward to being a part of the series’ fascinating world.

“Cheon Moo Young is a very three-dimensional figure, so I think it is a difficult but big challenge,” the Hellbound star said. “I will do my best to showcase good results.”

Lastly, Kim So Yeon will play the role of the former western mountain goddess. Today, she will be seen as a restaurant owner.

Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2 Storyline

As Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2 begins, fans are about to delve deeper into Lee Rang’s past and know more about the mysterious guardian deity Ryu Hong Joo, per AllKpop.

The new season will chronicle the new adventure of the mythical nine-tailed fox Lee Yeon in 1938. Director Kang Shin Hyo and scriptwriter Han Woo Ri from the first season will once again work together for this new offering, Indian Express cited.

Season 1 aired in 2020 and showed the life of Lee Yeon, who looked for the reincarnation of his first love Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah).

The woman used to be possessed by the Imoogi (a demon) in her previous life, forcing Lee Yeon to kill her. After several years, the two met again, and he finally found his happy ending.

But in Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2, he will be summoned back to 1938 and will try his best to find his way back home.

“I’m happy to be able to take on Tale of the Nine-Tailed once again,” Lee Dong Wook said. “I enjoyed working with splendid staff and great actors.”

Tale of the Nine-Tailed Season 2 is set to be out in 2023.
