Syfy Announces Lobo Spin-Off Series After Krypton Season 2 Premiere

The second season of Krypton has only begun but it's already getting its own spin-off series. Syfy has just announced that new character Lobo will lead his own show.

The news was dropped by TVLine right before the premiere of Krypton Season 2. Although the premise of the Lobo series has not yet been announced, there is little doubt that it will follow the last Czarnian on more crazy adventures. Emmett J. Scanlan will continue to portray Lobo in the new show while Krypton executive producer Cameron Welsh will serve as writer and executive producer of the spin-off.

Zhariff Lobo was created by Keith Giffen and Roger Slifer and was first introduced in the issue Omega Men #3 back in 1983. Although the character was initially meant to be a supervillain, he was later reintroduced as an anti-hero with a soft spot for space dolphins. We're not sure if we'll be seeing that version of Lobo in the Syfy series just yet but that would be entertaining.

Lobo has appeared in several animated shows including Superman: The Animated Series, Justice League, and Young Justice. He was played by the legendary Andrew Bryniarski in a live-action adaptation of The Lobo Paramilitary Christmas Special where he took on Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

The Lobo spin-off series has not yet been given an official production start or premiere date. Nevertheless, it is expected to air on Syfy. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
