Suzy and Yang Se Jong will be back on the small screen with a new K-drama with a working title, Lee Doo Na, also known as The Girl Downstairs.
News broke earlier this year that Suzy and Yang Se Jong might work together in a new show. Now, it has been confirmed that they will be doing Lee Doo Na.
The Roles Suzy, Yang Se Jong will Play
Lee Doo Na is based on a webtoon with the same title. It follows the story of a university student Won Joon, who meets a retired K-pop idol named Doo Na at a shared house.
Suzy will play the role of Doo Na, the former main vocalist of a popular idol group who suddenly announced her retirement and stayed in a shared house near a university.
With the former Miss A member’s incredible acting skills, proven in several shows she starred in, there’s already a high expectation surrounding the 28-year-old star’s upcoming new role.

Alternatively, Yang Se Jong will play the male lead character Won Joon, the ordinary college student. Though he has nothing to show off, he’s ready to give everything he has to Doo Na.
With his great acting in Degree of Love, 30 But 17, and My Country, fans expect nothing but more from the 29-year-old actor.

Director Lee Jung Hyo, who’s behind the hit series Crash Landing on You, Romance is a Bonus Book, Life on Mars, and The Good Wife will helm Lee Doo Na. There are also talks that Lee Yoo Bi will join the show.
Yang Se Jong in Talks to Play as Won Joon
Back in April, the news broke that Yang Se Jong was in talks to join Suzy in the new K-drama Lee Doo Na.
His agency, Blossom Entertainment, later confirmed the news in a statement via Soompi.
“It is true that Yang Se Jong received an offer to star in The Girl Downstairs, and he is positively reviewing [the offer],” it said.

As he has accepted the offer, it will be his first project after being discharged from the military in November 2021.
On the other hand, this will be Suzy’s big return on the small screen after the success of her Coupang Play series, Anna, which was named the fifth-best Korean drama in 2022.
There are no words yet on when Lee Doo Na will be out.
