From Jemma Simmons of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Elizabeth Henstridge gets into DC with Arrowverse’s Superman and Lois, but not as an actress as she would be the one calling the shots, taking the director’s seat on the next run of the series, Season 2 Episode 7, “Anti-Hero,” which she teases to be heartbreaking.

In a chat with TVLine, Elizabeth Henstridge shared that she directed the upcoming episode of Superman & Lois Season 2, “Anti-Hero,” and when asked what the run will be about, she said, "Oh my gosh, we're going to break your heart. You need a pack of tissues and then you also need a pillow to squeeze into and to punch and to hide behind. It's an episode that has everything that I would want, and I think we really deliver on all fronts.”

Henstridge applauds the acting skills of the artists involved, “The acting in it is phenomenal and we've earned these really big moments of emotion and turning points for a bunch of characters. We also get these big sequences that have a lot of elements to them.”

Henstridge also hints that Bizarro will have a bigger role in the next episode, “We get Bizarro, and we get things that I think people are going to have strong opinions on. And we see the genesis of a couple of characters that is going to have a massive impact on where the season goes."

The CW’s Arrowverse has pushed in a lot of directions and Superman & Lois Season 2 took a path that is on its way to being one of the most intense. In last week’s episode, “Tried and True,” Superman is in prison for treason as he would not give up the location of his other self while Ally continues to roam around like a walking threat. The Kent family has issues as well.

Elizabeth Henstridge is most known from her role in Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD on ABC as Jemma Simmons who appeared in all the seven seasons of the show. A doctor and a genius, Jemma Simmons is the biochemist of the team specialized in both human and alien species, a prominent member of the team, and the partner of Leo Fitz.

The official synopsis of Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 7 is as follows:

Superman pleads with Lt. Anderson to investigate Ally Allston and Lois receives some very upsetting news. Meanwhile, Lois helps Lana prepare to fight the good fight. Lastly, Jordan is still irritated with Jonathan for lying to him.

Superman & Lois Season 2 Episode 7, titled Anti-Hero, will be released on The CW at 9 PM ET/8 PM CT on March 8, 2022. It will be on live stream through Hulu+ Live TV, YouTubeTV, and AT&T TV Now.
