In a shocking turn of events, it was revealed that Jared Leto is reprising his role as the Joker in Zack Snyder's cut of Justice League. In an exclusive report, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Leto is involved in the filming of additional scenes for the four-chapter project which hits HBO Max next year.

Details about his involvement weren't disclosed and DC, Warner Bros., and Jared Leto himself have yet to confirm the exciting news. However, director David Ayer who helmed 2016's Suicide Squad looks pretty pleased with his Joker making his DC Extended Universe comeback. He even took to Twitter to share THR's news. Check it out here:

It's worth noting that Jared's Mistah J didn't actually appear in the theatrical cut of Justice League so it's a surprising move on Snyder's part to have him included. The film's original script didn't seem to call for a Joker appearance either so yeah, a lot of mystery surrounds his return. My guess is Leto could be filming his own post-credits scene which will tie directly into Lex Luthor and Deaththroke's yacht scene as the sinister Luthor was laying out plans for the Legion of Doom. That's obviously the most logical way to go about things. Or maybe Joker will appear in Batman's Knightmare vision? Who knows?

As for Jared Leto himself, this shocking move pretty much confirms that he'll be sticking around in the DC Extended Universe, regardless if fans like his portrayal of the Clown Prince of Crime or not. More importantly, Leto could finally turn things around and actually redeem himself as the Joker. Given that Justice League is set to rewrite the theatrical cut's mistakes and the entire DCEU itself, I have faith that Leto's version of the iconic Batman villain will finally shine. Can I get a Hallelujah?
