Suicide Squad Director Confirms Zack Snyder’s Dead Robin is Dick Grayson

There have been a lot of questions about the Batfamily in Zack Snyder's DC Extended Universe. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, fans get a glimpse at a Robin costume desecrated by the Joker, and while the movie didn't really delve into the details of the memorial, a lot of fans wondered whether the outfit meant that Boy Wonder had been killed by Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime. Even more, fans wondered which version of Robin had been murdered by the Joker.

While most would think that the answer would be Jason Todd, an early Robin who had been killed in the four-issue comic Batman: A Death in the Family, Zack Snyder once hinted that his dead Robin was actually Dick Grayson.

Interestingly enough, Suicide Squad director David Ayer says that Dick Grayson was Snyder's dead Robin all along.

Taking to Twitter, Ayer responded to a fan's question about Batman v Superman's dead Robin, and the Suicide Squad director was pretty candid with his answer.

"What is confusing? Joker killed Dick Greyson," Ayer wrote on his post on Twitter. "That was Zack's original intent."

This could come as a surprise to fans. After all, in the comics, Dick Grayson lives on to take the name Nightwing, reinventing himself from his role as Batman's partner, Robin.

It seems like Snyder really had a lot of plans for the DCEU. We hope that we can see more of it once Snyder's version of the Justice League finally makes its way to HBO Max.
