Suicide Squad 2: Michael Rooker Addresses Possible King Shark Casting

People are certainly excited about Suicide Squad 2 knowing that James Gunn will write and direct the highly anticipated sequel. However, things got a little bit more exciting when it was reported that Michael Rooker is being considered for the role of King Shark in the DC Extended Universe flick. Interestingly, the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 star has finally addressed the possible casting.

Rooker took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the casting news along with a surprising caption. Take a look at his post below.

Oops. Well, so much for getting our hopes up in seeing Nanaue being played by the former Walking Dead star. However, it's important to note that Rooker may have only denied that he will be playing King Shark. There is still a possibility that he could take another role in Suicide Squad 2. We'll keep you posted on updates as soon as we get them.

Rooker is not the only Guardians of the Galaxy star who could be reunited with Gunn next year. It was previously reported that Benicio del Toro is in talks to play the new villain in Suicide Squad 2. The Sicario actor could end up nabbing the role of The Mayor in the film.

So far, the only new star confirmed to join the Suicide Squad sequel is David Dastmalchian, who will portray Polka-Dot Man. We have yet to learn about Idris Elba's role in the film. Nevertheless, fans can rest assured that Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, and Joel Kinnaman will all reprise their roles from the David Ayer movie.

Suicide Squad 2 is scheduled for release on August 6, 2021.
