74th Primetime Emmys winner Matthew Macfadyen is eager to take home even more awards for Succession Season 4 and teases what viewers may look forward to.
Matthew Macfadyen Teases What to Expect in Succession Season 4
After the Season 3 finale of Succession ended on a huge cliffhanger, many people are eagerly anticipating Succession Season 4. Tom becomes a major player in the power struggle after betraying Shiv and switching his allegiance to Logan.
After winning his Emmy, Macfadyen spoke with Deadline and revealed that Succession Season 4 will begin shortly after Season 3 ends.

"We pick up a little bit of time after the dust has sort of settled. Not very much though," Macfadyen says. "It's a good ending. It sets up the story going forward."
Tom's treachery surprised everyone because he had remained faithful to Shiv up to that time. Macfadyen, on the other hand, believes his actions are justified because of the cruelty he has endured from his wife and her brothers.
"... there's the real terror of potential jail time. I think something flipped, he adds. "But when I read the last episode, I was like, 'This makes sense.'"
Succession Wins Big at 2022 Emmys
Succession was one of the top winners at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night. Succession had the most nominations of any TV show, with 25, and won four of them. It won the night's big prize for Outstanding Drama Series, while Macfadyen, who plays Tom Wambsgans, won for Outstanding Supporting Actor.
In its first three seasons, Succession has earned 13 Emmys.
Succession Season 4 Release Date
Succession Season 4 began filming in June. Stephen Root, Alexander Skarsgard, and Arian Moayed will appear as special guests in addition to the cast's anticipated reunion. The next season's plot has not yet been determined, but HBO has provided a preview of what to look forward to:
Succession Season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in 2023.
