Succession Season 4 News & Update: Shiv Roy's Pregnancy Adds a Complication

Australian actress Sarah Snook, who plays Shiv Roy, recently spoke with THR about her character's pregnancy and her decision to keep the news to herself in Succession Season 4 Episode 4.

In the aftermath of the shocking death of Waystar Royco CEO Logan Roy in Episode 3, Episode 4 dealt with the fallout and delivered some surprises of its own. The revelation of Shiv's pregnancy, which most likely involves her estranged husband, Tom Wambsgans, could have huge ramifications for the remaining six episodes of the season.

Shiv's Emotional State in Succession Season 4

Snook explained in the interview that Shiv's emotional state is too complicated to share the news of her pregnancy with Tom, given the recent loss of her father and the many business machinations happening around her.

Shiv wants to sort out her own feelings about the pregnancy before adding Tom's feelings to the mix. With the possibility of motherhood added to her already tumultuous life, Shiv may have to choose between her role as a ruthless businesswoman and her new role as a mother.

With Kendall and Roman now interim co-CEOs of the company, Shiv's influence in the business may be hugely diminished. The question remains: how will motherhood and being a businesswoman coalesce in Shiv's life?
