HBO's harrowing family drama finished its third season in December, and audiences simply can't get enough of Logan Roy (Brian Cox) and the incessant feuding amongst his dysfunctional, entitled heirs to his multibillion-dollar media company. Succession Season 4 is currently in development, but it may be some time before the beloved comedy comes to television.

In an interview with The Guardian, Cox, who plays Logan, the patriarch of the Roy family, stated that the series could continue beyond Season 3.

So as long as that life is there, and as long as the writers are inspired to do stuff, then it could go on,” Cox said.

When the reporter questioned if Logan had to play a role in Succession Season 4, Cox answered it wasn't absolutely necessary.

"No, they can kill me off," he said. "But I think they’d miss me. Originally, I was supposed to die at the end of the first series. But I think they realized that Logan is the centrifugal force of the piece.

He later told GQ that there are "possibly two more series and then I think we're done."

Succession Season 4 Plot: What Will Happen?

With Succession Season 4, it's clear that there's only one option: all-out conflict between the family and the business section.

With Logan selling out his family and consenting to a buyout of Waystar Royco, a significant part of what keeps him going will be gone. So, what is he going to do instead? Similarly, what will happen to Shiv, Roman, and Kendall now that they have nothing but each other to help them get through this difficult time in their lives?

All of the main characters have been betrayed by their significant other. Tom, Shiv's beaten-down husband, has finally bitten back, leaving her dead in the water. Gerri, Roman's lone apparent confidante, has turned her back on him. Kendall is clinging to his mental health by a thread.

Succession Season 4 will see the siblings scrambling to devise their next power play before it's too late. It's going to be a shambles in either case.

When Will Succession Season 4 be Released?

There is no confirmed release date for Succession Season 4 at this time. Based on the release dates of the first two seasons, HBO is likely to release the fourth season near the end of 2022 or in early 2023.
