Stranger Things took home five Emmy awards at the recent Creative Arts Ceremony which honored the best in artistic and technical achievement in television shows according to Variety. The Netflix hit dominated the ceremony alongside shows such as Euphoria and The White Lotus, which also took home five awards each.
The show bagged awards for categories such as Outstanding Music Supervision, Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup, Outstanding Sound Editing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour), Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (One Hour), and Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
After winning the award, music supervisor Nora Felder was pressed by the reporters backstage regarding the show's role in the resurgence of the 1985 Kate Bush song "Running Up That Hill" which now became part of today's zeitgeist as it topped the music charts again.
"A lot of people are relating to the song. I think children are having to go through lots of feelings of isolation. The song allows them to kind of express how they’re feeling," Felder said.
The series received twelve Creative Arts nominations in total during the recent ceremony for their work on the fourth season. It is also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the main ceremony which will be held this coming September 12.
The show's multiple wins come after the fourth season became one of the biggest hits ever on Netflix earlier this summer and topped the charts for weeks in both parts that were released (in addition to the resurgence of Bush's song). The series has already been renewed for a fifth season which will be its final one.
