Stranger Things Star Suggests Potential Season 5 Release Window

Stranger Things is soon coming to an end with its final season sometime in 2024. The long-running sci-fi Netflix series debuted back in 2016 and usually releases its next season about a year or two after its previous season. As for Stranger Things Season 5, well, Finn Wolfhard seemingly suggests that the streak is no coincidence.

Recently speaking with GQ’s Actually Me web series, the leading actor of the show expresses his disbelief on how far Stranger Things has come for him as an actor and for his castmates’ drinking age, as well. Wolfhard seemingly confirms that Stranger Things Season 5’s release window will be in early 2025, shortly after he will be turning 22 years old. Check out his full quote below:

“I can’t believe it’s already Season 5, I will be 22 by the time it comes out, I think,” Wolfhard suggested, “[And] I started working on the show at 12. That is insane. I’ll be able to drink with Gaten (Matarazzo], Caleb [McLaughlin] and Noah [Schnapp], and the whole cast at the premiere of Stranger Things 5. [You] couldn’t have said the same thing at the season 1 premiere, which blows my mind.”

Wolfhard is right for freaking out on turning the drinking age upon the release of the finale season, seeing as Stranger Things had to face many delays which abruptly changed their appearances and age differences (most notably in Season 3) from their characters in Season 2. That said, though, it’s great to see the series ending soon, especially given that the actor is quite confident that the Duffer Brothers have the “perfect” ending for Mike and the gang.

In fact, in the same interview, Wolfhard admitted he wouldn’t mind being “one and done” with Stranger Things: “I was stoked after I watched [Season 4]. Like, ‘Oh, hell yeah. Let’s finish this. It’s going to be nuts to finish it. It’s going to be amazing, but it’s going to be nuts.’”
