Steven Moffat's Dracula Series Could Get Season 2, Says Claes Bang

There is little doubt that the Dracula mini-series has been a refreshingly different take on Bram Stoker's classic tale. But what are the chances that the Steven Moffat series will be renewed for a second season? Claes Bang has teased on the possibility that we haven't seen the last of his immortal bloodsucker.

Bang, who played the titular vampire in the BBC One series, recently spoke to Collider about a possible Dracula Season 2. Interestingly, the star of The Burnt Orange Heresy admitted that a renewal might be in the works and that he is eager to reprise the role.

"That's absolutely something that I think is being discussed, but I don't think there's any news, at all. I haven't heard anything. I would be super happy to do one more [season]. I'd love to go back with all of those people and do more. It was were really fulfilling and lovely, and really, really cool to do," Bang said.

But what could possibly happen in Season 2? Bang shared some interesting ideas on how to start off the vampire's story in the next season.

"We have had a bit of fun with, now that he can actually stand in the sun, the opening shot of the second series would be Dracula, on a beach in Mexico, with one of those tin foil things that you hold up to your face, to get the sun all over you," he said.

Okay, that's not exactly what I had in mind, but then again, the vampire might want to enjoy some sunshine since he is now capable of being out and about during the daytime. Perhaps it's best to wait for an official announcement from BBC One and Netflix about the future of the series.

The first season of Dracula is currently streaming on Netflix.
