Stephen Dorff Regrets Scarlett Johansson Comments, Admits He Hasn't Seen Black Widow

There is little doubt that Stephen Dorff had to deal with backlash after he trashed Black Widow and Scarlett Johansson. Not surprisingly, the former Blade star is now regretting his controversial comments about the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick and its star. In addition to that, Dorff revealed that he has not actually seen Black Widow before and after making those comments.

Earlier this month, Dorff commented on Black Widow, calling the film "garbage" and that "it looks like a bad video game." He also stated that he was embarrassed about Johansson being involved in such a project.

It didn't take long before Marvel fans started canceling Dorff for the comments and it looks like the Leatherface star has since had a change of heart. Speaking to TMZ, Dorff explained that he was in a bad mood during the previous interview and that he felt bad about saying those things about Johansson.

"Oh, I love Scarlett. I think that was taken a little bit out of context. She's a great actress. I just… I'm not a fan. I love Scarlett, though, I heard she's going to be a mom so I wish her the best and she's an old friend of mine so I felt bad about that comment," Dorff said. He then admitted that he hasn't watch Black Widow yet.

"I haven't seen [Black Widow], I don't really go to those movies. I liked Iron Man, I like when they go a little darker. I love the Joker. I'm looking forward to the new Batman. But, you know, that guy in England got me at a moment where I was just sh*t talking a little bit and I felt a little bad about it. Happens sometimes," Dorff said.

Interestingly, he confirmed that he had tried apologizing to Johansson after the interview went viral. "I haven't heard from Scarlett, but I sent her a little note, though," Dorff said.

It's interesting to note that Dorff stated that he was old friends with Johansson. After all, both of them started out as young stars back in the 1990s and there are photos of the two attending parties together. Hopefully, things will be fixed between Dorff and Johansson after those comments.

Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and also stars Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Rachel Weisz. The movie is still screening in theaters and on Disney+.
