There is little doubt that Star Wars fans were hoping for some awesome updates on the upcoming Lucasfilm projects during Disney Investor Day. Luckily, the studio did not disappoint. The first look at the upcoming Cassian Andor series has just been dropped and it's an awesome sizzle reel that confirms the show's official title.
The sizzle reel for Andor was revealed during Disney Investor Day and it opens with a throwback to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The scene features Cassian gathering his fellow Rebels to show their support for Jyn Erso as he declares, "Everything I did, I did for the Rebellion." So what exactly were those things?
The sizzle reel doesn't offer a lot of footage from Andor considering that the series has just started production. However, there's an amazing look at the concept art and set design being prepared for the Rogue One prequel. In addition to that, Diego Luna also shares how he truly feels about returning as the Star Wars character.
"I'm really excited having the chance to explore Cassian," Luna says. "It's really fun to go on a set that is emulating something you like so much."
The plot of Andor is still a huge mystery but the teaser does confirm that we'll be seeing Cassian in action. With that in mind, we can't wait to see a full trailer for the series.
Andor is currently in production and is expected to premiere on Disney+ in 2022.
