The final trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is here and it seems like everyone can't stop talking about one particular scene in the teaser. Did we just get a glimpse at Rey and Kylo Ren teaming up to defeat one common enemy?
The trailer initially shows Rey training on her own and later preparing to face off against Kylo on top of a ship (in the rain, no less, because that makes things so much more dramatic, doesn't it?). However, there's one specific scene where the two are shown seemingly on the same side as they take down ... something dark and brittle.
So what is it that the two are destroying together? There are already speculations that Rey and Kylo will actually work together in an effort to defeat Emperor Sheev Palpatine, who clearly has big plans for both of them. It's possible that the thing they attack could be an effigy of Darth Sidious, who is trying to control the two Force users for his own dark plans.
This is a truly crucial scene that might spoil how The Rise of Skywalker will end so some are also wondering if it's a fake-out. After all, Kylo's helmet still looks intact and doesn't feature any evidence of being previously repaired. Although we're hoping that the scene will appear in the theatrical cut, it's best to be prepared for a few changes.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is the final movie in the Skywalker Saga. It will hit theaters on December 20.
