One of the best things about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is undoubtedly the return of General Leia Organa despite the unfortunate passing of the late Carrie Fisher. A new TV spot for Episode IX offers a new look at Leia preparing along with the Resistance.
The TV spot features most of the same footage that we have already seen in the previous teasers. However, this one is truly special since it offers a new scene showing Leia with some of the members of the Resistance looking very concerned. We're not sure what's happening here but it could mean trouble for them.
At this point, we're just excited to see more of Leia and finding out how her story will be concluded. Hopefully, The Rise of Skywalker will give the former princess the ending she truly deserves.
But will we actually see Leia in action in Episode IX? It was previously reported that Leia herself will be the one to train Rey in becoming a Jedi in The Rise of Skywalker. This would confirm that Leia underwent Jedi training herself and that Luke Skywalker may have wanted his sister to help him train more younglings. In addition to that, we might even see a flashback of Leia's training under Luke.
The synopsis for The Rise of Skywalker reads as follows:
"A year after the events of The Last Jedi, the remnants of the Resistance face the First Order once again—while reckoning with the past and their own inner turmoil. Meanwhile, the ancient conflict between the Jedi and the Sith reaches its climax, bringing the Skywalker saga to a definitive end."
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will premiere on December 20.
