Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Teaser Confirms Knights of Ren Tracking Down Rey and The Resistance

Most people have probably been waiting to see the Knights of Ren in action since Star Wars: The Force Awakens. However, the long wait is finally over. The mysterious individuals have just been featured in the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker TV spot and it looks like they're after Rey and the Resistance.

The new teaser opens with a haunting message: "Confronting fear, is the destiny of the Jedi. Your destiny." Naturally, we get a shot of Rey and Kylo Ren facing off on top of a structure surrounded by violent waters. But then, we are blessed with a sight we never thought we would see until the film's premiere: The Knights of Ren are shown on a cliff looking around a desert planet.

It's a stunning vision considering that we've already seen Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Chewbacca, and C-3PO in a similar landscape. At one point, the gang appear to be in a chase across the desert, suggesting that the Knights of Ren are the ones attacking them. Could it be because of a dangerous mission that may or may not work out for the heroes?

Threepio has the teaser's second ominous message: "If this mission fails, it was all for nothing." Sounds like they are going to need all the help they can get, but could it come from Kylo Ren? There is a brief shot of Kylo using the Force against an unseen attacker while his lightsaber is plunged deep into one of the Knights of Ren. Looks like he's not such a bad guy after all.

If the Knights of Ren isn't enough for you, the TV spot also features a short (but sweet) look at the Sith Troopers in action. Now we really can't wait to see this movie.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
