Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Official Synopsis Teases The Final Battle For Freedom

The official synopsis of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is finally here, which should be some welcome news if you're hoping to get some new details about the highly anticipated film. It doesn't disappoint as it teases the final battle for freedom in the Skywalker Saga.

So far, there hasn't been a lot of information about The Rise of Skywalker other than the return of Emperor Sheev Palpatine and Rey turning to the Dark Side (which turns out to be a vision or a nightmare, depending on who you're talking to). With that in mind, everyone is hoping that the synopsis might drop more details about the movie. So does it shed any light on anything at all? You be the judge.

The synopsis for The Rise of Skywalker reads as follows:

"Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in U.S. theaters on December 20."

OK, there's still not much to go on here but at least we now know that there's going to be more fighting after the Skywalker Saga ends. This means that although the whole Skywalker storyline will finally conclude this year, the war will continue and we'll be seeing new characters in the franchise.

Although the war continues, there is a huge possibility that Episode IX will finally answer certain questions that fans have been asking for years. We might finally learn the truth about Rey, find out why the Skywalkers were such a big deal, and realize that C-3PO was a Sith Lord all this time (OK, maybe not the last one but you never know).
