Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Might Reveal Kylo Ren's True Mission

We have yet to learn what exactly will happen in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker but fans believe that the film could actually give Kylo Ren the redemption arc he deserves. So is it possible that Ben Solo had been misunderstood right from the start? A new theory suggests that Kylo's true mission will be revealed in the final movie of the Skywalker Saga.

The theory posted on Reddit purports that Kylo may have an elaborate plan to defeat Emperor Sheev Palpatine. It is suggested that Ben fell to the Dark Side in the first place so he could get close enough to kill the Emperor.

"It's why it was so difficult for him to kill Han 'I have to do something but I don't know if I'm strong enough, will you help me' etc. Talking to the Vader helmet, 'I will finish what you started' because Palpatine isn't truly gone and the Force is not yet balanced or something. He has to do whatever he can to prove his devotion to the Dark Side until the moment comes that he can take out Palpatine," it reads.

It's certainly an interesting idea that could prove Kylo has been a good guy right from the start. But does this mean that he was actively throwing tantrums so no one would catch on that he isn't loyal to Snoke? It's a little too complicated so we would recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Although we're still not sure where Kylo's loyalties truly lie, there is little doubt that The Rise of Skywalker will be the last film for the character. Find out what happens when the movie hits theaters on December 20.
