It is already known that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was a divisive movie amongst critics and fans. The film had a disappointing box office run and had the poorest showing of the recent Star Wars sequels. While Episode IX didn't exactly do the best at the box office, it wasn't the worst. In fact, they even dominated in one key area.

In a recent report from Forbes, The Rise of Skywalker's current $514.2 million total stands as the 14th-highest ever at the domestic box office and 33rd at international. In addition, compared to other films that had successful opening weekends, The Rise of Skywalker is actually better overall.

Most of the focus tends to be on the weekend box office and as it turns out, the final installment of the Skywalker Saga has been quietly doing well on weeknights, which got the film higher numbers.

It was the 12th-biggest domestic opening weekend of all time with $177.4 million and sat behind Avengers: Age of Ultron as well as Captain America: Civil War back in December. However, it's 10-week total has surpassed both of the said films' lifetime totals. The Rise of Skywalker even has a "small chance" of catching up with Rogue One at $532.2 million. Regardless of whether or not it doesn't surpass that total, The Rise of Skywalker's numbers within 10 weeks is already a big achievement in itself.
