Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Home Release Potentially Revealed

It's been a while since Lucasfilm released Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in cinemas and now that the film's in its last few days in cinemas, fans have begun wondering when they'll be able to see the movie at home.

While the studio has yet to announce Episode IX's home release, eagle-eyed fans on the Star Wars Leaks subreddit noticed that Best Buy Canada has the third and final entry in Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy listed down for a 4K Blu-Ray release date on March 31.

Most retailers put in place holder dates for the upcoming home releases of blockbuster movies like The Rise of Skywalker, but the subreddit notes that the March 31 release date lines up with the time frame of previous Star Wars movies' home video releases. March 31 is a Tuesday release, a date typically given to home video releases that hit the market in the US.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi had a similar home release date. The film made its cinematic premiere on December 14, 2017, and then was released on Blu-Ray on March 27, 2018.

This doesn't necessarily mean that fans should mark March 31, but it seems like a good idea to keep an eye out for the date.

Aside from Blu-Ray, it's also likely that The Rise Of Skywalker is going to make its way to Disney+ during or after Summer 2020. Fans shouldn't really expect the film on the streaming site sooner than that.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in cinemas.
