Earlier this month, multiple rumors have gone around about George Lucas allegedly being brought in to fix the "disastrous" test screenings for The Rise of Skywalker. Some sources claim that there are three cuts for the movie, but none of these have ever been confirmed... until now.

Director J.J. Abrams recently sat down with Esquire to talk about Episode IX as well as the massive popularity of The Mandalorian's Baby Yoda. At one point in the interview, the outlet asked Abrams if anyone has seen the "finished product" yet. To which the director responded, "Sure, I mean the final, final? No."

He added, "I have not even gotten to see the final product." He then went on about putting the final pieces together for the movie. Abrams mentioned that he thinks a part of it already "looks amazing" but then again, he's still actually putting these pieces together in his head.

The director then revealed that he has shown it to a screening that only included some of his friends and family. "But we've never done like a test screening," he confirmed. This suggests that previous reports and sources who claimed so are actually false.

On the other hand, when asked if George Lucas has seen the final film, Abrams said that Lucas "sees them fully." But for now, Abrams is still looking forward to hearing from him. That being said, he is confident about being able to add the feeling of having a "central story" in The Rise of Skywalker. "I could not be more proud of the work this cast and crew have done," Abrams added.
