Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Concept Art Reveals Deleted A New Hope Easter Egg

It may have been several months since its release yet we're still learning more about Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. For instance, recently-revealed concept art has confirmed that the film almost featured an interesting reference to Luke Skywalker's childhood in A New Hope.

The concept art was shared by concept artist Adam Brockbank on Instagram. Make sure to swipe through the post to see all the images.

The scene in question confirms that Rey had entered the Lars homestead on Tatooine in The Rise of Skywalker. Additionally, she came across something that teased at Luke's childhood dream of leaving the planet. Rey actually found Luke's model of the T-16 Skyhopper in the first image. In the second one, it is revealed that she was originally meant to be accompanied by C-3PO and not BB-8.

It's interesting to note that the scene where Rey heads for Tatooine could have been longer. In addition to that, it would have been awesome to see Threepio return to the place where he was originally built (Tatooine, not the Lars home).

There is a possibility that this scene was removed from the theatrical cut of The Rise of Skywalker to make more time for important sequences like the fight scenes. On the other hand, it would have been a touching tribute to the place where Star Wars all began.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently available for streaming on Disney+.
