Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Book has NOT been Delayed After All

Reports came out yesterday that Audible had canceled pre-orders for the audiobook of Star War: The Rise of Skywalker with the reason that the book has been delayed indefinitely. As it turns out, it seems that only the audio edition has been compromised and the book is still going to release as planned.

This has been confirmed by the @DelReyStarWars on Twitter:

Though the book has not been canceled, fans can't help but think that something is going on behind the scenes when it comes to supplementary materials to The Rise of Skywalker. The Art Of book for TROS had still been recalled, and it's speculated that it was because the original edition had some art that could possibly put fans off to the theatrical version. Even the concept art of Colin Trevorrow's Duel of the Fates was enough to get fans riled up.

Personally, I think The Rise of Skywalker was a big mess and it's a good example of why studios shouldn't always listen to their "fans". If anything, a rumor has been going out that the theatrical version isn't even what director J.J. Abrams wanted, but something that Disney had put together to appease the fans. Seeing as this was the closing of the Skywalker Saga, I hoped that we would have gotten something more meaningful rather than a fast-paced, messed up film that leaned in too much on the fanservice.

You can catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker now in theaters. The book comes out March 17.
