With the Star Wars series The Acolyte heading to production soon, we've been hearing a lot of updates about the development of the series which was first announced back in 2020 including some casting news and the story being set in the High Republic era. Now, it looks like the series has another major update as they recruited another actor to its growing cast.

Deadline has reported that The Good Place star Manny Jacinto is joining the cast of The Acolyte. As usual, the details regarding the role that he will be playing in the series are unknown at the moment.

Russian Doll co-creator Leslye Headland is serving as the showrunner of the series. Production is expected to begin in London this late fall. The cast already includes Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith, and newly-minted Emmy winner Lee Jung-jae.

The series is described as "a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era."

Jacinto is known for playing Jason Mendoza in the hit comedy series The Good Place. He also appeared in films such as Bad Times at the El Royale, I Want You Back, and a brief role in this year's highest-grossing film Top Gun: Maverick. He also starred in TV shows such as Brand New Cherry Flavor and Nine Perfect Strangers.

It's always exciting to hear whenever a talented actor like Jacinto gets added to the cast of a Star Wars series. It is interesting to see what kind of role will he play whether it's on the light or dark side and how involved he will be in the story of the series.
