Star Wars Reveals Ben Solo's Last Words to Rey in The Rise of Skywalker

It's no secret that one of the most poignant scenes in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker were the final moments Ben Solo spent with Rey. But did the former Kylo Ren have something to say to Rey before his death? Those last words have finally been revealed in the novelization of the film.

In The Rise of Skywalker, Rey and Ben were drained of their energy by Palpatine. However, Rey still managed to use her remaining strength to defeat the Emperor. Unfortunately, this caused her to collapse but she was immediately resurrected by Ben. The two shared a kiss before Ben passed away.

So did Ben have any last words for Rey? Luckily, his final words have been revealed in the Rise of Skywalker novel (via Comicbook.com).

The excerpt from the book reads as follows:

"A voice came to her through the Force, clear and strong. 'I will always be with you,' Ben said. She smiled. Let the truth of it wash over her. 'No one's ever really gone,' she whispered."

It's a sweet message confirming that Ben is now one with the Force. In addition to that, their exchange brings us back to Luke Skywalker's line that appeared in the first trailer for The Rise of Skywalker. It's a fitting conclusion for Ben indeed.

So does this mean that Ben is now a Force ghost? Interestingly, the novel itself did not feature Ben as a Force ghost. Perhaps we'll get to see this in future Star Wars publications.
