Star Wars: Princess Leia Mocks Han's Significant Solo Moment in New Comic Issue

Love it or hate it, Solo: A Star Wars Story gave us some truly interesting scenes like the first meeting between Han and Chewbacca or the revelation of the real leader behind the criminal organization Crimson Dawn. But does Princess Leia Organa really have to mock one of the most important moments in the Ron Howard movie?

There's a cool and somehow hilarious reference to Solo in the comic book Star Wars #69 which introduces Dar Champion, a mysterious figure from Princess Leia's past. Not surprisingly, Han isn't a huge fan of the guy and repeatedly finds ways to mock him. At one point, Han questions if Champion truly is Dar's last name or if he had simply made it up. Leia, who is clearly not having any of this jealous little tantrum, has the perfect response.

"Is your last name really Solo?" she asks.

It's an obvious zinger at one of the key moments in Solo where Han approaches an Imperial officer to enlist in the Empire in an effort to leave his home planet. When it is revealed that Han doesn't have a family name, the officer writes him down as "Han Solo" since he doesn't have a family and is traveling alone.

The description for Star Wars #69 reads as follows:

"TRICKS AND TRAPS! The REBELS AND ROGUES epic continues as our heroes deploy their plans to trick their Imperial pursuers... and everything falls apart! CHEWIE and THREEPIO face moral quandaries — and mortal danger — when they learn the uninhabited planet they're supposed to destroy isn't quite so uninhabited. Will the FORCE be with LUKE in a bar fight? And who is DAR CHAMPION... and what does he have to do with Leia's past?"

Star Wars #69 is currently available on digital and in your favorite comic book stores.
