Star Wars: Palpatine's Creepy Message in The Rise of Skywalker Finally Revealed

We already know that Emperor Palpatine would be back in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. But how did the villain announce his return? Episode IX mentioned Darth Sidious' mysterious broadcast although it was never heard in the film. Luckily, we can now listen to Palpatine's creepy message and it comes from an unlikely source.

The message is actually featured in the Fortnite Star Wars Event that took place a week before the premiere of The Rise of Skywalker. You can listen to it at the 0:24 mark in the video below.

"At last the work of generations is complete. The great error is corrected. The day of victory is at hand. The Day of revenge. The day of the Sith!" Palpatine says.

In case you were wondering, the line was actually recorded by Ian McDiarmid for The Rise of Skywalker. However, director J.J. Abrams decided not to include it in the final cut of Episode IX. We're not sure why Abrams chose not to feature the message in the film but we're glad to have found it in one way or another.

In The Rise of Skywalker, it was confirmed that Palpatine is still alive and had been the mastermind behind the First Order all this time. We're not given an explanation on how he survived the fall in Return of the Jedi but at least his story was given a proper conclusion in Episode IX.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is still screening in theaters worldwide.
