Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Series Nabs The Mandalorian Director

The highly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series is moving forward and it has just found its director. Star Wars confirmed that Deborah Chow, who previously worked on The Mandalorian, will helm the Disney+ show.

StarWars.com proudly announced that Chow will direct the Obi-Wan series that will bring back Ewan McGregor as the Jedi Master. In addition to that, the official Star Wars Instagram account shared the good news with a photo of the director. Check it out below.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy expressed her excitement over having Chow back to work on another Disney+ show.

"We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I'm absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story," Kennedy said.

We have yet to see what Chow has already done for The Mandalorian. After all, the premiere of the series is still over a month away. Nevertheless, we're already looking forward to seeing Chow's work brought to life later this year.

So far, McGregor is the only cast member confirmed for the Obi-Wan series. He will also serve as executive producer alongside Chow, Kennedy, and Hossein Amini, who will write the screenplay. Tracey Seaward (The Queen) and John Swartz (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) will serve as the other executive producers while Lucasfilm's Jason McGatlin will serve as co-producer.

The Obi-Wan series has not yet been given a release date. The Mandalorian premieres on Disney+ on November 12.
