Star Wars: Mark Hamill Shares Heartwarming Reaction to New Luke Skywalker Actor

Mark Hamill might be the only person out there who could play Luke Skywalker but we'll be meeting a younger version of the future Jedi in Obi-Wan Kenobi. It has just been confirmed that the character will be played by the young actor Grant Feely in the upcoming Disney+ series. So what does the Star Wars legend think about the casting? Hamill has just shared a heartwarming reaction to the news.

Yesterday, it was announced that Grant Feely will portray Luke Skywalker in Obi-Wan Kenobi. Fans were quick to notice how the young actor resembled Mark Hamill and immediately hyped up the casting. Not surprisingly, Hamill himself had great things to say about Feely.

"Grant Feely looks like a perfect Luke Skywalker and I am wishing him all the very best!" Hamill tweeted before adding the fitting hashtag #TheForceIsWithFeely.

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. It's great to know that Mark Hamill approves of the new Luke Skywalker and we can't wait to see the young actor in action this May.

We previously got a glimpse of the young Luke Skywalker in the first teaser for Obi-Wan Kenobi. The boy is shown playing and pretending to be a pilot, an awesome confirmation that Luke had always dreamed of being a starfighter. With that in mind, we can't wait to see what Luke was like as a child when the show drops soon.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will bring back Star Wars prequel trilogy actors Ewan McGregor as the titular Jedi, Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader, Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars, and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Lars. They will be joined by Rupert Friend, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, O'Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell, Benny Safdie, Maya Erskine, and Rory Ross.

The Obi-Wan Kenobi series premieres on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
