Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy will be taking a page out of Star Wars by doing its own holiday special. Simply titled TheGuardians of the GalaxyHoliday Special, the project's filming will actually coincide with the production of the third Guardians film which takes place later this year. Now, hardcore fanatics of the space drama epic are well aware of the "legendary" television special which premiered in 1978 which is often regarded as some of the worst if not the worst Star Wars content in existence.
Speaking of the GOTG Holiday Special, director James Gunn teased on Twitter that he already completed the script for the project and it's safe to assume that production will be underway real soon. As fate would have it, Luke Skywalker actor and overall Twitter savage Mark Hamill got word about it and he had some choice words for the upcoming MCU project.
Unsurprisingly, it brought back memories of his horrid experience working on the Star Wars' own holiday special. Retweeting Gunn's post, Hamill expressed his worry and hilariously said: "I have a very bad feeling about this..." Check out his tweet here:
As it stands, we still don't know how the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will play out but I'm pretty confident that it won't be similar to the Star Wars version. And let's be real here, James Gunn is a creative genius and I think we can all rest assured that he's going to create something that is out of this world. I'm honestly both curious and excited about their holiday special. It should be interesting.
Meanwhile, James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is under development.
