Star Wars: John Boyega Confirms Finn is NOT in Love with Rey

SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

One big "mystery" that The Rise of Skywalker was playing around with was Finn supposedly making some confession to Rey. While some were reading this as some kind of romantic admission, Boyega says it's not the case.

On Twitter, Boyega confirms that Finn wasn't going to say ‘I love you.' Here's his post:

Though it wasn't explicitly answered in the film, director J.J. Abrams had revealed during a panel that Finn was going to admit to Rey that he was Force-sensitive. It was weird that he was keeping it a secret from Rey since there's no possible reason for it, but I guess it's good that we have a definitive answer.

As for Finn's romance, a lot of fans (and even Oscar Isaac) are adamant that Finn should end up with Poe. It even seemed like Lucasfilm was trying to put this theory down by giving Poe an ex-girlfriend with The Rise of Skywalker, but it's very possible that Poe could come out to be bisexual; I mean, why else would he be acting like a jealous girlfriend throughout the entire film? For all we know, it was his gay feelings that lead him to break up with Zorri anyway.

Gay or not, Finn is definitely one of the most beloved characters in the Sequel Trilogy, and I think it would be great if we got more of his story in some kind of prologue for The Rise of Skywalker. How about a Christmas special on Disney+? Jon Favreau would love that.
