Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Surpasses EA’s Sales Expectations

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order made its way to consoles last November and for the first time in Star Wars videogaming history EA gave Star Wars fans a single-player, narrative-driven experience that had no strings or gimmicks attacked.

The game was nothing short of a success, gaining strong reviews from fans and from critics. Now, we have the numbers to prove Fallen Order's commercial success. EA just recently held an earnings call for its investors (via ComicBook.com), and during the meeting, the company made note of how Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order managed to sell more than eight million copies since its release in 2019.

Eight million copies means that Fallen Order surpassed EA's projections for the videogame – before the game's launch, the videogame published expected the title to sell six to eight million copies by March 2020. We haven't even reached February, and yet it seems like Fallen Order has already managed to surpass EA's goals. These numbers mean that single-player Star Wars games have an edge in the Star Wars video gaming market, not just multiplayer games.

Right now EA has shifted its sales projections for Fallen Order, expecting the title to sell more than 10 million copies by the end of the fiscal year.

To those who have yet to purchase the game, Fallen Order is an action-adventure videogame published by EA and developed by Respawn Entertainment. The game features an original story which focuses on Cal Kestis, a Jedi Padawan that survived the events of Order 66 in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
