Star Wars Icon Finally Gets Big-Screen Cameo in The Rise of Skywalker

There is little doubt that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker had a lot of major surprises for fans. For instance, we finally got to meet Rey's parents and we learned the truth about Supreme Leader Snoke. But did you also notice an awesome cameo from a long-time Star Wars icon in Episode IX?

SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

In The Rise of Skywalker, the heroes reached out to Zorri Bliss for some help in reprogramming C-3PO. They were brought to a cantina to meet Babu Frik, but before that, we got a sweeping look at the awesome dive bar in Kijimi's Thieves Quarter.

Did you notice anything during this particular scene? You didn't need to look too closely as one character was focused on. It's none other than the legendary Star Wars composer John Williams.

It's interesting to note that Williams has been composing music for the franchise since A New Hope but has never shown up in the films. Luckily, The Rise of Skywalker was the perfect opportunity for Williams to join the universe he helped create.

Interestingly, Williams' character is named Oma Tres which just happens to be an amalgam for "Maestro." Needless to say, it's the perfect name for the character.

We're loving the idea that Williams managed to find time to film a brief cameo in The Rise of Skywalker. After all, he was understandably busy working on the score for Episode IX. Nevertheless, we're glad to have seen him in the final movie of the Skywalker Saga.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is currently screening in theaters worldwide.
