The comic book industry has proven over the years that it's ready to incorporate characters who represent the LGBTQ+ community into the mix and Star Wars has officially followed suit. To those unaware, Star Wars' The High Republic comics published by Marvel earlier this year officially marked the debut of Jedi twins who identify themselves as trans non-binary.

Terec and Ceret are just two of the exciting new characters added to the Star Wars lore and fans from the LGBTQ+ community are more than thrilled to know that transgenders are not being represented in the franchise. Now, in celebration of Pride Month, specifically the Trans Day of Visibility, Marvel has unleashed an exclusive The High Republic cover featuring the twins.

Taking to their official social media pages, Star Wars celebrated the milestone by unveiling the awesome cover featuring Terec and Ceret. The post reads: "We support trans lives and we are passionate and committed to broadening our representation in a galaxy far far away." Check it out here:

It's a significant win not only for the folks from the LGBTQ+ community but also for bonafide comic book geeks who have long been pleading for representation in the Star Wars universe. Aside from that, this also pretty much solidifies that Star Wars is more than ready to adapt to the current climate and while there may be people who will look at it in a political and pandering way, it's amazing that the industry is now more open to incorporating characters from all walks of life, all shapes and sizes.

Star Wars: The High Republic comics are available everywhere.
