Star Wars Fans Start Petition to Fix the Grand Inquisitor's Appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi

We have already seen the first trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi which gave us an idea of what to look forward to in the upcoming Disney+ series. While most people are pleased with Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen's return as the Jedi Master and Darth Vader, there is one character that fans can't stop talking about. Now, someone has started a petition to fix The Grand Inquisitor's unusual appearance in the Star Wars show!

When the Obi-Wan Kenobi trailer was dropped, it was finally confirmed that Rupert Friend will be playing The Grand Inquisitor. Although people had no problem about the casting, several commented that the highest-ranking Inquisitor didn't look like a regular Pau'an because his head is round and flat as opposed to the alien race's thin and elongated forehead.

Interestingly, some people are so uncomfortable about The Grand Inquisitor's appearance that they have started a Change.org petition begging Lucasfilm and Disney to use better prosthetics and special effects to improve the character's look in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

"In 2005's Revenge of the Sith, The Race of the grand inquisitor, the Pau'an, was perfectly executed. However in the upcoming Disney+ show Kenobi they have opted to forgo any real prosthetics and portray the grand inquisitor as a human-like figure with a round head. Completely unlike the rest of his race or his animation counterpart," the petition reads.

"I am begging Lucasfilm & Disney to rectify this tremendous oversight for the continuity of the franchise and the crucial atheistic to this menacing character," the petition concludes. You can sign the petition here.

At this point, there are a lot of conversations about The Grand Inquisitor's look in Obi-Wan Kenobi but Lucasfilm and Disney have yet to comment on fan reactions. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ on May 24, 2022.
